With over 50 years of experience, The Help Group has expanded its services and launched its newest endeavor, Lumina Counseling. Lumina Counseling, provides insurance and private pay mental health services for children, adolescents, adults, families and couples, throughout the Los Angeles area. We offer individual, group, couples and family therapy, in addition to psycho-educational evaluations and diagnostic assessments. We ensure our clinics are staffed with trained professionals with a variety of specialties and theoretical approaches, so that we are sure you will be able to find what you need. At Lumina Counseling, we meet our clients where they are at, and build a strong, trusting and compassionate therapeutic alliance with those we serve. At our core, Lumina believes that everyone has the right to be heard, to be helped and to live their best possible life.

Meet Lumina's Therapists
Lumina Counseling offers access to licensed and experienced psychologists (PhD / PsyD), marriage and family therapists (LMFT), clinical social workers (LCSW / LMSW), and board licensed professional counselors (LPC). All of them have a Masters Degree or a Doctorate Degree in their field. While their experiences, expertise, and background vary, they are all certified by California or their state professional board. Lumina Counseling’s therapists can help you with a range of issues including depression, anxiety, relationships, trauma, grief, family conflict, failure to launch syndrome, and more. Not sure who may be the right fit for you? Don’t worry! We take the guesswork out and will hand-match you with a mental health professional that best suits your unique goals and needs.

No, you do not need a referral to see a Lumina Counseling therapist. You can contact our office directly and speak to our program coordinator. They will help match you with a therapist that best suits your needs.
Currently we offer both virtual and in person services. Our offices are located in Sherman Oaks, Culver City, and Van Nuys.
We accept insurance, as well as private pay. You can make your payments deductible directly through the Tebra payment platform.
If you don’t have insurance our private pay option is $180 per hour.
Call our office! Our number is (818) 779-5100. We will ask you a few demographic questions to help us match you with a therapist who would best fit your needs. It usually takes between 1-3 business days to match you and to have your insurance verified.
Lumina Counseling has a variety of highly skilled and experienced therapists including licensed psychologists (Ph.D/Psy.d) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), licensed clinical social workers (LCSW), and licensed professional clinical counselors (LPCC). All of our therapists have a Masters or Doctorate degree in their field and have been qualified and certified to provide services in the state of California.
Sessions here at Lumina Counseling generally are booked for 60, 45, and 30 minutes weekly depending on your needs and your therapist’s recommendation. Generally, it is recommended to book a 60-minute session.
Our therapists are highly skilled in treatment for young children, adolescents, and adults.
