Niki Bahri, MA
Who I Work With
I work primarily with children, adolescents, and their families, with a particular focus on autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, anxiety, emotion regulation, executive functioning, and social challenges. I use evidence-based approaches while tailoring therapy to each client’s individual strengths, needs, and interests. My goal is to create a warm and engaging space where young people feel understood while developing practical skills they can use in their everyday lives.
Background & Training
I earned my B.S. in Psychology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and am currently completing my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Loma Linda University with an emphasis in clinical child psychology. My training has included work across school-based, pediatric healthcare, community mental health, and private practice settings, with extensive experience supporting neurodivergent children, adolescents, and their families. I have specialized training in evidence-based interventions for children and adolescents and am a certified PEERS® provider. My research has focused on autism, parenting, child development, and improving access to evidence-based services for children and families.
Beliefs & Interests
I believe therapy works best when children, adolescents, and their parents or caregivers feel both understood and empowered in the process. I take a strengths-based and collaborative approach, helping young people better understand themselves and their emotions, recognize what works for their unique brains, and build skills that feel useful and realistic in their daily lives. I also value partnering with parents and caregivers, providing tools and support that help them feel confident in understanding and supporting their child. I am especially passionate about helping young people develop self-advocacy, confidence, and independence while strengthening connection within families.
