Angela Woolard, MA

I’m committed to helping children, teens, and adults navigate challenges and build resilience, while cultivating their strengths and creating a fulfilling life.

About My Clients
I work collaboratively in a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment with clients and families with diverse lived experiences, backgrounds, and areas of need. I particularly enjoy helping neurodiverse clients gain empowering coping strategies while embracing their uniqueness and authenticity.

My Background & Approach
I am in my final year of the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at Alliant International University in San Diego, with a focus on child and family therapy. I previously received my M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Alliant. I have worked with children, teens, adults, and families affected by anxiety, depression, grief, relationship conflict, and adverse life experiences. I have also helped teens and young adults with autism and/or ADHD build upon their strengths and develop strategies for growth.
With children, my evidence-based therapeutic approach is creative and fun, using play and projects to learn skills, promote emotional growth, and build resilience in an engaging way. With teens and adults, my work is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), helping clients develop psychological strength and flexibility, cope with change and stress, and address negative thought patterns that hold them back.

My Personal Beliefs & Interests
The time I share with each client is guided by my values of curiosity, compassion, patience, humility, and respect. I also believe that the therapist-client relationship works best when I am flexible and meet clients where they are at, emotionally and developmentally. I am eager and honored to provide a safe space for clients to share their unique lived experience, and for us to work together to increase emotional resilience, promote well-being, and facilitate a move toward a meaningful life.
